Excel GetRange - Copy Action Fails

Using the Excel GetRange function, if the contents of a Cell contains backslashes () within it, and you use a For Each loop, and then use to Clipboard (from) action function and the Clipboard (to) action to assign to a varibale, then the Clipboard (to) action fails.

The below screenshot shows the value in Column 12 that fails to in the Copy (to) action:

However, if I escape the value then it will properly be assigned to the variable:

Why do you need Clipboard if you use the Excel Get Range action?

Please also post your recording sample here.

Using the Clipboard feature to assign values to variables for later processing in forms. You can replicate this with any GetRange function. Simply enter text as shown into a cell and try the following:

GetRange (Rows 2–n>)
For Each item1 in (item) List filter=1 (getting first column)
Clipboard (from ‘item1’)
Clipboard (to ‘firstname’)

Screenshot of code follows:

If the first column contains c:\temp\RPAWorld.pdf then you receive the following error:

However, if the first column contains c:\temp\RPAWorld.pdf if works fine.

This is a known issue (special symbols are not processed correctly in clipboard) - will be fixed in the next release.

This issue is fixed in 1.1.8 - https://kb.workfusion.com/display/RPAe/Sunbird+1.1.8
