How to Run the Groovy script standalone

We are working on the the Test Framework on the Groovy Scripts generated through recordings

We are more of creating reusable functions for designing the Framework

To begin with , can you please let us know how to run the Groovy Scripts standalone.
Can we use Groovy Console / Eclipse to run these (recorded) Groovy scripts .

Please share your thoughts .

When Running the Auto Generated (Recorded) Groovy script ,
I am getting a compilation error as

Cannot resolve symbol UiElement ,
Cannot resolve symbol Rectangle

I am guessing some jar files are missing here,
Can you please help me out on the above issue.

I installed Java 7 version ,will that be a problem ?

Thanks in advance,

I made a simple recording for trouble shooting purpose and tried to run the Auto generated Groovy script
I am getting the below Error

java.lang.SecurityException: Prohibited package name: java.lang
at java.lang.ClassLoader.preDefineClass(
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(

I could see this error is on the below Java file in the jdk path:

C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_25\\

I am guessing that this could be the issue with the Java Version ? but stuck in here.

Can you please help me on this issue.

Thanks in advance ,

Currently RPA Express does not offer strong capabilities to develop groovy scripts. You can easily execute them in Control Tower but development tools only come with our flagship product Smart Process Automation.

You can run and debug standalone Groovy scripts in WorkFusion Studio which is a part of WorkFusion SPA product and is not included into RPA Express.

You can request more information here: and on the website:

Please let us if would like to know more about it.

How to download WorkFusion Studio ?

This product is available to WorkFusion partners or customers only.

I already download RPA Express and what is the process to get WF Studio?

please see the answers above

I have a process which I would like to run without Control Tower etc.
I’ve exported the process as a Groovy script and opened it in GroovyConsole.
When I try to run it I get the following error:
unable to resolve class
I’m guessing I’m missing a .jar file. Does anyone know where the needed .jar file is located?

Best Regards,
