Operator Popup to confirm script execution

I have a use case where I need to gather a report once per month from an old system that does not support multi-user data access. Because of this (and also for licensing reasons) the report must run on the machine of the operator. What I would like to do is the following:

One script that pops up a message to the operator that an automated script is about to run and asks for a confirmation. That this script provides an input to a “manual action” in control tower and only runs the rest of the report generation business process once “ok” is clicked by the operator.

Has anybody done something like this or is there some other way of getting around the issue of a very infrequent process running on a remote operator machine?

Any thoughts or ideas welcome - might generate some ideas on how to proceed.
